Of the 70% of hospitals that report having a formal value analysis program, only 1 in 10 is practicing real value analysis. The remaining 90% are performing product reviews and very likely missing 5%–15% of non-salary and supply cost reductions.
To ensure that our members achieve optimal cost savings, Acurity promotes a physician-led approach. This model is most ideally suited for facilitating effective physician engagement and the integration of the value-driven decision-making that is essential to the nation’s evolving healthcare delivery model. When done correctly, value analysis can foster a culture of collaboration between different hospital departments, maintain or improve patient outcomes, and reduce total costs.
Acurity’s experts can evaluate if your organization and Supply Chain Department are equipped to support true value analysis. We can provide recommendations as well as implementation and management support.
