Elizabeth A. Shlom, PharmD, BCPS
Vice President & Director, Clinical Pharmacy Program
Dr. Elizabeth Shlom has been managing our Clinical Pharmacy Program since 1995. Under her direction, the Acurity Clinical Pharmacy team offers programs that help members provide cost-effective and safe medication use. Meetings and events are held regularly to give members an opportunity to discuss formulary concerns, regulatory compliance, and clinical pharmacy practice management issues. The clinical team provides such value-added services as an electronic newsletter, monthly ACPE-accredited pharmacy webinars, resource guides and other publications, benchmarking surveys, and a robust offering of web-based toolkits.
Prior to joining our staff, Dr. Shlom completed ASHP-accredited hospital pharmacy residencies at Duke University Medical Center and the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Her health-system pharmacy career spanned 10 years of working at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital of San Francisco, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut, and St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
In addition to her work at Acurity, Dr. Shlom has been active in the New York State Council of Health-system Pharmacists and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Shlom also provides representation for Acurity members on the Premier Education Task Force.
